For this project, I wanted to pick a website that needed aesthetic updating and test my ability to re-imagine what the landing page could feel like. I chose the "We Always Swing" Jazz Series, an amazing local non-profit organization dedicated to bringing jazz performances and jazz education to Columbia, MO.

I wanted to flatten a lot of the distracting graphic elements like gradients and drop shadows and borders so the eye can quickly and easily navigate the dense amount of information this website curates for its visitors.

I also wanted to pull textural and graphic inspiration from the "cool" era of post-bop jazz album covers from Grant Green, Miles Davis, Art Blakey, and so forth with the photographic collage of contemporary performers that have been featured at the Jazz Series including Terrel Stafford, Chucho Valdez, and other:
